Science Made Simple will visit your school with a fun, interactive science
show called "It's Only Water", which explores all the
amazing properties of water. Your pupils will investigate whether water
can flow uphill, walk a tightrope, or even crush an object! The hands-on
sessions use curious experiments to fascinate children with the extraordinary
properties of water, and demonstrations enable pupils to visualise the
scale and environmental impact of particular activities. They willl look
at wise ways to use water and at the importance of water in the global
environment. A teachers' resource pack will be provided to help you make
the most of the enthusiasm the project will generate.
The project ties in with
the Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development themes of the PSE/PSHE
curriculum and with drama and poetry units of Year 7 English, as well
as covering Science themes such as changes of state, energy, materials
and the scientific process. The project is delivered in English, and can
cater for as many pupils as you can fit in your school hall.
